Event TEN

This site is cool. It uses flash and incredible images to capture the attention of the viewer.
Jim is a very talented photographer.
I like his preloader for the site.

Event NINE

SOMA SAN DIEGO

Dec. 10, I was lucky enough to scalp some tickets just in time to see Modest Mouse perform their latest jams in San Diego. They rocked the place. I had a great time listening to them and enjoying their talent. I think this counts as an art event because music is indeed an art form that can be shared by many.

http://www.modestmouse.com
modestmouse's website has some pretty cool flash going on as well.
go to their site and check out the bottom of the page. rad.

Event EIGHT

http://www.christarenee.com/

Christa is an extremely talented photographer. I chose this website because of interest I have in learning more about flash. Her site is killer. Not to mention, her clientele that she works with. She gets to photograph attractive humans in the surf industry. Very cool job. The interface for her website is very interactive which caught my attention. I am striving to emulate this idea.

Event SEVEN

http://www.jeffsoto.com

I have been a fan of this artist for a while now. I saw a few bits of his work in a local art gallery not long ago. Stumbled upon his website and decided to use it for event seven. He creates very interesting pieces. I find new aspects to in his artwork the longer i look at each one.

Event SIX

This website is amazing. It showcases advertisement campaigns, different artist groups as well as individuals. After perusing this website I left with many ideas that I want to incorporate into my own artwork, especially in video.

Art event four

Date Visited: October thirteenth, two thousand seven.
Location; http://theartdump.com/blog2/

Description: This site is a blog I found through a maze of link sections off of previously visited art sites. I was immediately attracted to the flip book (zine) animated gif file. I MUST try to create one of these asap.

Relative to class: I want to create a flip book zine of this style using flash.

Art event three

http://www.guerillaone.com/feature_artist_06_09/

Artist: David Choe

Description:
David Choe is a free spirited artist. His media is a wide spectrum. "He can paint anything and everything, as well as on anything and everything. He has won lots of awards and his art work can be seen in almost every facet of society, from comics, murals, toys, prints, movies, music, magazines, books, t.shirts, posters, commercials, shoes, fine art, etc."

Relative to class: I am attracted to this style of art. I see similar methods of approching artwork in my work compared to Choe's.

Whales

Posted Jun 06, 2001

Whales is an intimate portrayal of Dave Choe, a Los Angeles graffiti artist.

Art event two

Place Visited: www.studionumberone.com
Artist: Studio numberone staff

Brief Description: This website is a straight forward showcase of the latest designs produced by studio number one graphic artists. Shepard Fairey is the man behind the company. He got his start with obeygiant and launched this design company. I am a big fan of his work.

Relative to class: Studio number one claims, "successful brading and marketing is the product of fresh ideas and mutual inspiration between clients and oursleves." I think that a main objective in this class is to learn how to express ideas in a fresh, inspiring technique. Learning Flash is a way for me to accomplish this goal.

Art event ONE

California Moderns Art Show
Date: August 18th
San Diego, CA

This event was one I visited as well as participated in. An event fascilitated by aspiring artist Zac Logan was produced and held in the streets of downtown at a small yellow house. Filled to the brim the show had a collaboration of local artists. Zac invited myself to the show and asked if I had any work for display.
